Hello, book nerds!
September was a good month — pretty standard, all told. There were some notable life events for friends, which I enjoyed celebrating, and outside of those, things were quiet and relaxed.
The latest and greatest is that I’ve committed to writing a book.
I say “committed” specifically, because that’s the important part. I’ve always been a writer, but I’ve never seen any one project all the way through. As a teenager, writing was just something I did for fun, so I flitted between new ideas depending on where my mood took me. As an adult, writing is something that fell by the wayside in the face of my responsibilities.
And yet, even though I haven’t been writing much in the last few years, sometimes ideas or even sentences and paragraphs will strike me. I have felt for a while that I’m so full to the brim with creative impulses that it just oozes out of me at random. My cache of random snippets is not for the faint of heart.
Well, I’ve realized that my life is good and calm, and if ever there was a time to make myself do this, it’s now. So that’s what I’m doing. I’ll keep you posted. For now, I’ll say my current project is a fantasy western romance, with magic and fun banter.
Anyway, here’s the goods:

- Reviewing this one tomorrow!
