Hello, book nerds!
June was a great month around here. We started off strong, with a road trip to attend VE Schwab’s book tour!
VE Schwab was incredible to see live. The way she speaks is captivating, and she truly has a way with words. And we were front row! So I felt like I really got to soak it up. It’s always refreshing to hear someone discuss their craft with such intellect; I’m so excited to read her new release. I also got to buy a few additional signed copies from her backlist: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (which I reviewed here) and Vicious, which I haven’t read yet.
On a lifestyle note, we’ve been renovating our library all year, making slow but steady progress. This month, we finally hit a checkpoint! 2 out of 3 walls are now complete, and we were able to finally buy a couch to round out the room. We’ll start on wall 3 eventually, but for now we’re enjoying this rest stop.
Here’s some pics. We made the shelves ourselves! We installed them onto L brackets to get the floating shelf effect (screwed directly into the studs of course, they’re going nowhere). I’ve learned a lot about power tools over these last 6 months.
ALSO, not to brag (okay, maybe to brag), my husband surprised me with a signed copy of Twilight. If you know me, you know I’m a certified rattie (IYKYK), and this vampire romance was fundamental to tween me’s reading career. He says he got it for my birthday (which is months away) but he couldn’t hold it in for even a few hours before showing me. I love him.
I don’t know who Natalie is, but I hope she knows her book has found its way to a good home. Everyone say, “Good job, Mr. anwhitebooks!”

Debating if I event want to review this one, to be honest. I don’t know what star rating I’d really give it, but it gets 5/5 raccoons because I ate it up.
Yes, I read a lot and reviewed only a little this month. C’est la vie.
