Hello, book nerds!
May was a busy month around here. Not only did I attend a book fair and a concert (Empire of the Sun), but I also got to meet the Rachel Gillig!
The book fair was a fun event — there were so many cute booths. I made off with a “blind date with a book” which turned out to be Done & Dusted by Lyla Sage. I’m just here for the cowboy romance. I’ll keep you updated on how I like it. I went with my friend over at The Paper Backpacker — definitely check out her blog!
I also drove three hours to attend Rachel Gillig’s book tour for her new release, The Knight and the Moth, and it was a great time. If you’re unfamiliar with this author, she wrote one of my favorite fantasy duologies, One Dark Window. And fun fact, she did confirm that the sequel for her new book is already written and in the editing stages!
On top of these fun events, I mostly spent the rest of the month powering through my TBR. My husband and I have been playing Halo for a few months now, and we recently finished both Reach and ODST. I’m also through (most) of the third season of Game of Thrones (I just finished “The Rains of Castamere” AKA “the red wedding” so NOBODY TALK TO ME), and we also finally finished our re-watch of The Dark Knight trilogy. And I’m still maintaining my running/rock climbing/yoga sched.
